April Quilty Secrets and Guilty Pleasures

I forgot how much I like summer. I love winter the most and I’m usually sad when spring rolls around. This year I have been so happy to watch the days grow longer and warmer. Bare feet in the grass, garden planning and tank tops. I’m into it. Quilting changes for me as the seasons change. This is what it looked like in April.
Post cards. I wanted to see some of my photos off the screen on paper so I make post cards. For those of you who have been supporting me here on substack please look for an upcoming email asking for your mailing address. I would love to send you some of these as a thank you gift.
The Broken Mirror quilt binding is finished. It’s exciting to finish the first quilt of the year. I will add the signature this week and it will be ready for its new home. I’ll be sad to see this one go.
Repairing the Indigo Hex quilt. Have you ever noticed that it is so easy to let your own bed look the worst? I notice how my own quilt takes a lot of damage with dogs and kids and me and my spouse living on it. This huge king size quilt gets heavy use on my bed. All the seams were hand stitched and I started noticing some pulling along the more delicate fabrics. This month I quilted along both sides of the seam in these area to better secure the quilt top.
